About Alkan

I’m Alkan, a Turkish-French producer born in 1997 and raised in Strasbourg. I’ve been making beats since I was a kid.

Over the years, I’ve produced for artists like Baby Jungle, BabyFace Ray, DJ Drama, Lil Gotit, and worked with Atlanta’s hip-hop scene, collaborating with KEY!, Atl Smook, 10kdunkin, Terrance Escobar, and Slimesito. My journey has taken me from studios in Atlanta and New York to Paris and Istanbul, each place shaping my sound. I’ve also composed for ads and video games, including Space Jam: A New Legacy.

My sound draws from ’90s boom-bap, with influences like J Dilla and DJ Premier, blended with West Coast pioneers such as Dr. Dre and DJ Quik, and the 2000s era of Kanye, The Neptunes, and Timbaland.

2025 marks the beginning of new collaborations, with Culture Again (Publishing) and Platoon (Apple Music).

These days, my focus is on digging for samples from around the world and shaping them into my own sound. Personal releases include Archéologie (2023), Seven Sleepers with Zay Bcuz (2024), singles with Blest Poet, and my latest beat tape, 1997. I’m planning to drop a lot more beat tapes and EPs in the near future.
